Life Legacy
Charles Ray McCraw, 79, of Mooresboro, died on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. A native of Cleveland County, he was born on September 19, 1931, a son of the late Charlie and Ollie Mae Pearson McCraw. He was retired from Duke Power Cliffside Steam Station and a member of Prospect Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, Guy McCraw.
He is survived by his wife, Verleen Luckadoo McCraw; one daughter, Diane Ledbetter of Shelby; one grandson, Chad Ledbetter of Mills River; his three beloved pets, Baxter, Jack and Floyd; four sisters, Tootie Godfrey and husband Jim of Mooresboro, Mae Farmer and husband Shorty of Mooresboro, Patsy Greene and husband Howard of Mooresboro and Nancy Justice and husband Kenneth of Mooresboro; one sister-in-law Betty McCraw of Mooresboro.
Funeral services will be held at 4:30pm on Friday, April 29, 2011 at Prospect Baptist Church with the Rev. Ernie Cole officiating. Burial will follow at the Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3:00pm - 4:30pm at the church.
